Last weekend I scored two wintercoats for 20$ (120 Norwegian kroners) at a flea market, one brown and one navy. They're a nice, thick quality and the shape is lovely (they don't make coats like this anymore), but the arms were a wee bit short so I decided to try and lengthen them. I made a scalloped strip to match the width of the arms, and sewed it on on the inside. I think it worked, but I'll have to wear it a few times before I decide if I like it as much as I hope I will.
Before and after:
The colors are a bit off, but with the crappy light it was the best I could do.
Work In Progress this weekend:
Stockings and handbags :)

What a creative solution! I didn't get a chance to work on learning to sew a zipper in this weekend. I was busy running around all day Saturday, then Sunday I was just drained due to some emotional stuff. So I guess I'll try again later in the week!? I love the red & blue you have there. Fun!

Super clever idea. Love the scalloped edge.
